Study of the Thermal Technical Characteristics of a Combined Solar Desalination and Drying Plant

The paper presents the results of calculated research on determining the thermal technical indicators of a combined solar desalinization and drying plant. The structure of the plant is developed and proposed. A mathematical model is developed that describes the thermal processes occurring in the plant based on heat-balance equations solved using the Laplace method.     

Energy levels and heat generation of electron-hole pairs in Ge, GaSb, and InAs doped by some compounds of the II–V and II–VI types

An attempt is made to substantiate the origin and formation of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) as a result of stratification and macrofluctuating stable localizations due to the pinch effect (pinching), which may occur during the propagation of solar eruption plasma; in the interactions of localized parts of the plasma with the Earth’s atmosphere; and in the detection of different UFOs emitting in a wide spectral range.     

The heat efficiency of solar ground water-heating collectors

A numerical heat model of a ground solar water-heating collector (GSWC) has been developed and its heat losses have been investigated. The heat losses in the GSWC and in “ordinary” flat collectors are shown to be similar. The model can be used to choose the constructive parameters of the GSWC and to estimate the temperatures in a ground layer under different conditions on the surface (opened and closed surfaces) and at a varying densities of solar radiation and surrounding temperatures.     

Photocurrent amplification effect of the fet gate p–n junction

A superlinear increase in the light current of the gate with an increase in the exciting integral light intensity (from 100 to 1000 lx) has been revealed experimentally. This superlinear increase is due to the increase in the internal gradient field generated by the minority carriers by the cutoff voltage of the gate leading to an additional interband generation of photocarriers. On the basis of the investigation of the dependence of photocurrent on the cutoff voltage it has been shown that the photocurrent increases linearly, which is explained by the creation of an internal electric field by the majority carriers of the base zone of the gate p–n junction. Crystallization of μ-and α-cordierite in glass obtained via melting by concentrated radiant flux

The results of investigations of the influence of synthesis conditions on the crystallization behavior of cordierite glasses are presented. It is found that both ultraviolet radiation and the glass melting temperature influence the glass crystallization processes. The influence of small admixtures on the crystallization of μ-and α-cordierite is shown.     

A Study of Quartzites of the Koitashskoe Deposit for Their Applicability to the Production of Dinas Parts

Various samples of quartzite of the Koitashskoe deposit are studied for checking their applicability as a raw material for the production of dinas. In accordance with the degree of devolution, the refractoriness, the heat resistance, the water absorption, and the porosity, quartzites of the Koitashskoe deposit meet the requirements of the GOST 9854–81 standard and can be used for the production of dinas parts.
